I was just asked what this mark means when found on the receiver ring of a Long Branch No 4 Mk I*.
I think it is the Canadian Army sold out of service mark. I'd have to think that there was no C Broad Arrow there before this was struck, as there is room for the second arrow inside the C, thus a whole new mark struck only when it was sold off?
This normal C Broad Arrow wouldn't have room for a second arrow pointing to the original...the British of course wouldn't have this problem as their Broad Arrow wasn't enclosed by the C...anyone know the wherefores of this??
