Crap your right, I forgot I can't afford it because I'm such a poor. I better just buy this Chinese rifle as that's all I can ever afford. gosh restricted oh noes, better not buy any more of those!

As TI said- you are comparing apples to oranges.

Enjoy your Bren. I’ll enjoy my T81.

Bren looks like a great addition to collection! But apples and oranges to T81 LMG really

Also most likely an RCMP error, we've had stuff pending inspection since Jan. 2018 and still not reviewed yet, that version of the Bren just recently came out. Pistols don't require inspections so looks like someone inadvertently classed it the way pistols get classed, just based on pictures and info via email and in a couple days vs a few years. Maybe someone new. Question is if RCMP would go back on classification (which would make them look bad) or not do anything to save face. Downside to pistol classifcation means it can never be non-restricted. Same reason why you couldn't put a stock and 18.5" barrel on glock and make it NR.

That's my fear..

probably in dec.

Is this a diversion because before he released the batch last time he sounded as if it will take some time, and then booom? As I mentioned before, I got offered rifles from the next batch form some "friends". Wonder how they could secure them when there is no reservation?

not likely to arrive much sooner than dec cos on sep 24, TI announce the wheels will be here with the next shipment so that means the shipment hasnt left so calculate how long it would take to haul the cargo to the coast of china, at sea to vancouver, at customs then truck to calgary.

Not sure I can trust his word. I know that some guys already have their hands on part of the next shipment, not that it is my business. Just saying. I speculate that a lot more will come into Canada anyways, both type 81 and LMG. Look at the prices. Did I say Chinese?

But does it really matter?

A SKS will soon be $1,000. so either stock up or not.

If the factory indeed just received an order that will allow them to keep the Type 81 tooling for a while longer, the factory has every interest no to let it sit idle. If they see a good demand in Canada, they'll be happy to help Tactical Imports to fill it. The fact they were willing to create an alternate version of the drum magazine deactivation to fit the Canadian market's demand in a relatively quick manner shows they are paying attention and responsive.

As to the shipping, I wouldn't assume these are coming in on the slow boat from China. Air China Cargo started flying a Shanghai-Edmonton-Dallas route back in 2015. Assuming this route is still running, and given the premium these non-restricted firearms fetch in Canada, Tactical Imports may have elected to have their shipment come in by air to Edmonton, and then have them trucked out to their Strathmore location. They may already have the second shipment in hand, or be near to having it delivered, but they would certainly not sell it until they are finished shipping out the first shipment. Ironically, the shipping from China component could be the least part of the time to get the rifle out to the hands of customers.
