SOLD OUT: TYPE 81 SPECIAL EDITION -Shipment 2-

The CSA side mount with the low-profile mount. In the event that it doesn't work could I send a non-OR back to TI to get it drilled and tapped for the dedicated Type-81 mounts?
Thanks for the response.

there is no need for drilling and tap. you need to switch the safety and 2 pins then you can add your rail on the left side.

you will need the rail mount then a weaver plate and then the aimpoint will sit in.

oh yeah i have everything ready to go on that front lol. switching the safety is no biggie for a good smith either. sounds like i'm good. Might need to order some of those pins though.
EDIT: if the pins are the same then I may already have some that would work.

Right hand safety on non-optics ready folder is a deal breaker for me.

I vaguely remember something about the left side safety having an issue with the folder on the SE, which is why they switched it on the non-optic ready folder. Can someone refresh my memory? Was there a reason someone can't get the non-Optic folder and purchase a surplus left safety from someone else who replaced there's with the right side from a TI optic kit? Regardless, an option would be to get the fixed stock, and then mod a Zhukov variable length of pull folding stock to fit, or install a VZ folder using a FoxStrap printed adapter.

you can put a wtb to get the regular safety by someone that will sell not a big deal for sure.

for the fox trap good luck they ve been missing for a while.

I went with the fixed stock se just because the safety is on the left side. I had a folder from the first batch of special editions and the right side safety wouldn't allow the stock to fold all the way and it would make contact with the folding stock side panels.and also felt a little odd using my index finger to manage the safety

now, your choices are down to two, fixed and fixed OR.

take your time and it will be no choice, problem solved, lol.

Or you will be left with the LMG as your final option; they're still available. You're paying a premium over the rifle, but it would be better then paying a scalper, and you could get it pretty rifle-like by removing the bipod and carrying handle. Has anyone tried slippng a spare fixed wood stock from a rifle in the LMG to see if it fits? You can also put the Zhukov variable length of pull folder on the LMG. And you can get muzzle devices for it. It looks like the $50 accessory bundle discount also applies to the LMG, so you could get it out of the box with a pinned drum mag if that floats your canoe.
