Thanks very much for the post and the detail pics. My package is still on route. I also bought an OR version and I'm not planning to put a scope mount on it at this point in time. I'm hoping to find a couple of metal screw caps that can go on those threads.

I got the optics mount on, without having watched any videos or reading up on how they work I was a little confused at first but the TI video on youtube showed everything pretty clearly. All I really had to do was screw the pins into the mount plate, adjust the QD tension on the picatinny rail and then mount my optic. The only issue is the small locking lever on my mount (the smaller one that locks into a recess on the main lever) does not seem to have any tension. I'm not sure if that is how it is supposed to be or if something went wrong on the install. If anybody has any insight on this feel free to share. That one issue aside the rail locks up solid on the mount with no discernible play, I mounted my Vortex Strikefire II with no issues as well. Unfortunately I don't have very many different types of optics to test. The rail looks like it might have clearance for an optic with an integrated QD mount like an Eotech EXPS or Vortex UH-1 but I don't have one to confirm.
Here's my rifle with my Strikefire II and my Ferro Slingster, I boresighted it for 10 yards in my basement so it shouldn't be too hard to get a zero starting at 25 yards and working my way out further.
I hope to get out to the range tomorrow or Sunday, might post a range report with my impressions in the red rifle forum. I will be looking into possible modifications, rail capability would be nice but as it sits currently the rifle feels svelte and easy to handle, with a weight comparable to my SKS (including the optic).

Same but I wasn't in the overnight buyer's club. I didn't get my order in until after I received the email 8am et next day. Plus I messed up not putting the PAL info in so they had to ask for it. Lol rookie mistake. But I'll patiently wait as it sounds like they are starting to arrive!

They don't exist. The best you could do is find an AK Pmag and modify it. I did this to some 10/5 Pmags and it worked well. Unfortunately the followers in a Pmag won't hold bolt back after last round.
