SOLD OUT: TYPE 81 SPECIAL EDITION -Shipment 2-

Did you guys use the main contact number to reach Canada Post? My rifle has been sitting in Edmonton for a week saying it's delayed and at this point I want to go pick it up if they'll let me. I had a package that I ordered last week delivered yesterday so I don't know why they can't deliver it.

Yeah… just use it like the Vz and roll it with your trigger finger. Super easy.

It’s not a AR so just deal with it ffs!

yeah buuut.... VZ folder doesnt block the selector, the T81 folder does. besides i prefer to use my right thumb.

Picked up my fixed OR this weekend. Barrel points 4mm or 5mm to the right. Has anyone else with bent rifles received any response from TI?

you have to measure again and be precise, is it 4mm or 5mm? along 40cm in length. dont worry, they will respond.

i havent heard of anyone with that severe of a bent.

My package made it to Calgary on the 31st. I cant reach any human to resolve this. They are shielded by robots making the situation unresolvable.

Mine was sitting in Calgary for 2 weeks and now Edmonton for almost 2 weeks. This is the longest time a firearm has been in Canada Post hands for me. I’m only 3 hours away from Edmonton. Usually they’re pretty quick, they must be severely short handed due to Covid or some other reason not sure. Not complaining, it’s just unusual to take this long.

I can perhaps provide some insight for those of you with tracking numbers, but severely delayed deliveries...

My rifle was shown as "In transit" from Calgary on January 26th. It has not had any updates, and right off the bat of receiving tracking info (Jan. 30) it was listed as "delayed".

After some talking with Canada Post, opening a service ticket, having it's priority upgraded, and being forwarded to a senior supervisor... I was informed the package was flagged as "improperly shipped" by their inspectors, and is being held or returned to the sender, which of those is happening was not made clear to me.

What WAS made clear to me is that I have no further recourse as the receiver, and I must contact the shipper (TI) to inform them. It will then be up to TI to contact Canada Post and sort it all out. I've just sent my email to TI, so no response yet.
Hopefully that helps some of you with your next course of action.

Thanks for posting this information ^. I’ll contact Canada Post and ask if the same has happened to my order.

Ughh my rifle has been sitting in Calgary forever as well
How can TI not ship them properly?
Something seems off with all this

Same here, and TI has been totally unresponsive. Why should we have to chase them down? TI needs to step up with some information and get this resolved ASAP.

I love living rural. Mine arrived no problem. Went to pick it up, and was handed the package. Asked if they wanted to see ID.

CP: "Why?"

Me: "Umm, because it's a firearm."

CP: "Of course it's a firearm. I already knew that. Just take it home and enjoy it."

Mind you, this is also why rural CP workers don't end up with cushy head office CP jobs :)

I don't necessarily think something is off, but given that this is clearly not an isolated incident, perhaps it would be a good opportunity for TI to make a small statement.
It may save them from receiving many of the same questions, creating a further backlog, and perhaps trying to prevent that could expedite the process for those who haven't realized their "delayed" item actually will not be getting delivered to them.
Something along the lines of "...Please give us the tracking number of your rifle that is delayed in transit, and we will do our best to resolve this issue".

Yes, I realize not everyone is on CGN.

Mine arrived on Monday. The tracking for one package was updating correctly and was pretty much on point, while the second package showed delayed/no update/issues something to that effect. Magically they both changed to delivery attempted, which for me means parcel slip in the mail box.
Seems to me that Canada post tracking has not gotten any better than its typical poor hit and miss. I wouldn't assume the worst just yet. Hopefully those who are still waiting get them soon.

For me, they shipped it February 6th. It was in transit on February 8th in Calgary
. Just updated today February 11th that the package is in Hamilton Ontario now. Wohooo! Hopefully they deliver by Monday-tuesday.

Small update as I received a response from TI in regards to my improperly shipped rifle, which only showed "delayed" with no movement for 2 weeks before I phoned Cpost;

"Hi [evonorth],

We have discussed this with Canada Post and are in the process of correcting this. You will be receiving a new tracking number shortly. Our sincere apologies for the wait.

Cheers!"

Hopefully anyone else with abnormally delayed tracking numbers sees this and starts the process of confirming with CP it is "improperly shipped" and follows up by contacting TI. As far as I'm aware, the process is not automatic and TI will not know until you inform them. I could be wrong.
Best of luck to everyone affected.

I just received my type 81 today and i tried getting the dust cover off it was practically stuck on the rifle I managed to get it off without damaging the wood stock then i noticed why it was soo hard to get it off its bent and curved downwards at the end of the dust cover and wouldn't let the latch release it due the the very bad bend at the rear. I got it off without damaging the wood but I don't think I can get it back on without using alot of force and damaging the stock to get it back on. has any one else had this issue? 20220212_124143.jpg20220212_124133.jpg16446878350111865086200678244871.jpg

Mine is a chore to get on and off as well, didn’t notice a bend in it though.

Seeing $1400 for new fixed or folder and no takers lol, TI are expecting more shipments for those still want one.
