Solo hunters: do you use an inreach device?

you are not making sense but if you solo hunt then I wish you would consider one of those devices for your own good and your own safety.
Regardless of what you decide for yourself I wish you well and wish that you always return safely .
But please end this discussion.
The only person who thinks carrying an InReach device is like wearing a face mask is you but nice try on that, lol!
I don't think you really know what "focused " means as you still haven't "focused in" on what this thread is all about.........
Frankly, I don't know why your still posting in this thread about a topic which you say your not interested in, won't use or probably just don't understand,.......
Speaking of common sense, GPS and satellite communication is here to stay and isn't going anywhere. If new technology upsets you so much you should probably just avoid reading about as no one is forcing you to use it. Don't take it so personally, it isn't about you.
If you can't contribute something useful to the thread why don't you just move on to a different CGN thread on a topic that you are actually interested in?

Grabbed a SpotX and haven’t activated it yet but I’m looking forward to having it on my pack when I head north in about 3 weeks. For $200 (plus the subscription costs of course) as others have mentioned it’s pretty cheap insurance. Tracking feature will be neat for a few friends and relatives who hunt, allowing them to follow my progress on any given day. Also nice to know if some sort of emergency happens at home, I can be contacted.

Yes but it also provides data, voice etc...
I picked up a nice belt case for mine at Home Depot, not designed for that purpose, but fit's perfectly and keeps it accessible. Two way texting can be handy to solve a problem. like camera issues.

the normal in reach looks good, i assume you can use the GPS map features without a subscription, useful all the time, then if you go on an expedition you can just get 1 month plan for $20 and cancel after. instead of paying all year for it too sit on a shelf. 20$ a trip is cheap insurance
