sombody educate me on Pigeons

pigeon is very tasty and tastes the exact same as dove.

anyone knocking it clearly hasnt tried it. ;)

for those commenting on how pigeons are dirty because of what they eat. maybe you should stop and think about how many animals and plants eat and live in ####. pigs roll in their own crap and from what ive seen will eat nearly anything yet they taste great and most eat em. how about veggies that grow in soil that gets plastered with animal crap? how about fish and lobster that are scavengers? then theres white chickens that look brown from laying in their own crap/mud all day....

I've ate lots of em on the farm. Buddy of mine from France was raised on them.

Fun to shoot , and they get smart in a hurry if you miss them once or twice or three times........... and then are even harder to hit.

Fed well ? hell they git nothin to do all day but fly around and eat the best grain they can find.

I found ground hogs a bit tough. But tasty.

Raccoon gave me the Shizen. Don't recommend them.

Lol

I don't know why people seem almost offended that I mentioned pigeons pick grain out of manure, it was with humor. I know geese , ducks and turkies do as well and I eat them - don't care.

Oh and canadian hunter312 if you think pigs really "roll in their own ####" you've obviously never raised any.

"Phishtik" is very correct about the pig thing.

We raised lots of pigs on the farm and threw the manure out the windows of each pen to the barn yard. If a new batch of hogs were crappin in one of the corners not near the window we would fork the crap to where we wanted it.

After that they will back into the pile and go. Hogs do indeed like a mud bath. But in a pen are very clean animals. Actually my favorite animal to raise.

Back to pigeons...........mmmmmmmmmmm tasty ......even if they do pick corn out of pig poo......see that I made it all work ....pigeons ....poo....pigs .....genious !!

Pigeons are far cleaner than any penned-up chickens I've seen.

I think chickens are the nastiest birds around. Plus, I think they taste either too dry, or else like water, when you buy them from the store. Duck is much better! Too bad there are no pigeons to shoot around here!

My wifes uncle was over for dinner last night somehow the subject of pigeons came up turns out he used to raise them he told me that they are not cleaner or dirtier than another bird out there.

Also eating pigeon is huge in Germany/France it is almost considered a delicacy over there.

popular season in states

The morning doves you see in the woods are hunted in the states usually behind a blind and theres hundreds of them but if you feed one bread everyday downtown toronto there usually ready by christmas

I havent eaten the British Wood Pigeon in many years. They are very tastie roasted in red wine.
Since I kept a few homers for dog training and seen how much they #### I don't think I could bring myself to eat another. Well maybe if there was nowt else in the larder. :D

Its true, pigeons to quail they all s**t like their lives depended on it. Its not until one has to clean their houses every day that one realises just how much. But Quail are both cute and tastie. :)
