Get the M9 4sure....kick-ass rollmarks, non of that "warning" sh*t, and straight dust-cover
I was hung up on the straight cover. Once I had the Italian one in hand I really didn't care for the straight cover. Frankly I think the slant is more representative of Italian design and follows the curves of the rest of the gun.

Get the USA made M9, it would be the right one to get for the M9 designation, I do not believe the Italian plant makes any M9s after they set up the factory in Maryland.
As for differences in quality, I do not have both, but I heard they are on par. However the newer ones come with plastic triggers and guide rods I was told?
Unless they switched it back, trigger is plastic too. I replaced mine with a metal one.
Well mine was Inox as well. was yours metal but black? or do you have one of the older all (accents) inox guns?Could be a black vs. inox feature. I don't have a black one to compare, but the trigger on the new inox' are indeed metal.

As posted earlier, this is it. It was made in Oct-09.

I decided that in a few months when I start work the first firearm I will buy in 2010 will be a Beretta M9. Problem is that all the dealers I asked only stock the 92FS style. I know they are identical internally but I prefer the look of the straight dust cover on the M9.
Also, just in case I can't find one, my second choice is an Italian made 92FS. Does anyone have Pictures on the new Italian made ones? The pics I have seen look a little odd with the slanted cover and I would like some more views to help me judge.
Thanks.
my buddy just bought a 92 fs made in italy, its sweet shoots excellent, and funny story, u no the differences better then i do, but it is a 92fs and in the canadian fire arms registry its called the m9, i thought they were identical, but interesting, good choice, i sold him his for $849.99
