some deer pics

nice pics
i grew up in newcastle (south shields really but most folks don't know where that is)... didn't see much game till i started hiking in the lake distict. got any plans on hunting over here during the normal season?

Muntjac are good eating, very tasty!
The big one(pretty sure it"s not a donkey!) is a Red deer, which are basically a smaller version of an Elk. That Hind(female) came from the West of Ireland last week, where Reds are still pretty pure and are"nt hybridised with Sika(makes them smaller).
The suppressor is a Reflex T8(a 30 cal, so it fits my 308 and my 243), it"s a pita to carry, but has it"s advantages, like being able to shoot more than one deer at a time.
Looking forward to moving to AB and hopefully getting my WIN and Pal in time for the 08 season!:)

Congrats on the deer - they look crazy! I bet you'll be sorry to leave the suppressor behind if you come here though. Is it true that the Finns have to use suppressors so as not to annoy locals when they're shooting?

I have a set of 7 European hunting DVDs, including hunts in UK, German, New Zealand, Iceland, Africa...Yeah, I saw those little deer from the DVDs.

To be honest, I won"t miss suppressors that much. Like many places now, we are so built up here that suppressors are useful for minimising disturbance to people and livestock. I enjoy using a rifle without the suppressor making it muzzle heavy.
I hope to move to Lethbridge this year, but I"m still waiting for my paperwork, and I"m putting my house on the market here shortly, so I still need a lot of things to happen before I can move.

Yes indeed it is a Muntjac and bloody good eating they are too, lots of them around the hills of my former town in England ( Cheltenham ) in the Cotswolds, good deer hunting land.

And yes silencers are allowed in the UK you can even get them for 12g Shotguns, I really don't see what the problem is with them here in Canada.
