Just a question about negative feedback from EE deals. I am not airing dirty laundry here just am curios as I left negative feedback and the other party did the same out of spite. Do I contact a moderator to try and remedy the situation or am I stuck with bad feedback from a seller with bad trading etiquette?

Maybe contact an admin to change to neutral. Backing out of a deal doesn't warrant negative feedback....

User feedback is a user self-service. Compliance with the followings constitute a social contract with other traders in the community. Canadiangunnutz administrators and moderators will not be responsible for moderating, adjudicating and editing comments in the trader rating system. Users bear full responsibilities of all ratings and comments made in the Feedback Score System. Users further agree to give up all rights to sue for any form defamation and claim damages over comments and scores in the Feedback Scoring system. If you do not agree with the above, please cease the use of the Feedback Score System and notify the administrator of the forum to remove your access to the Equipment Exchange forums. Trade related disputes originated from Equipment Exchange forums shall not be discussed in the forums. All disputes and feedbacks should be confined to trader rating feedback system and private messaging.

Neutral feedback can be left by both the buyer or the Seller where there is a recognized transaction, when one party backs out of a verbal agreement and the timing of delivery of funds has been specified at the time of the acceptance of the offer;
Only the Buyer can initiate Negative Feedback. A Seller can only respond with a neutral feedback after a negative feeback is left by the buyer. The Seller cannot initiate a negative feedback;
Negative feedback can only be left by the buyer in the following circumstances:
There must be an agreed date of delivery before funds are accepted, and the delivery date is not met; It is the responsibility of the buyer to obtain a date of delivery before sending funds;
Items delivered do not agree to the conditions posted;
All feedback must be left within 30 calendar days after the mutually agreed to date of delivery;
Fraud can be reported to the Fraud Reporting Forum, in accordance with the guidelines of fraud reporting;
All negative feedback must be accompanied by comments which detail the transactions and reasons for the feedback;

Sellers are not allowed to leave negative feedback, buyers are. IBTL

Crap I said buyer when I meant seller. Since changed it but I was buyer and said I'll take it. He responded and we started making plans to meet. Then stopped responding entirely to me. Assuming sold it and didn't want to deal with me. Never tried to contact me with a reason. So I left negative to which he did the same

click the little triangle in the bottom left, and report his negative feedback to the mods... his negative will disappear in a day or two.

Since nobody is out any money or an item, I would suggest that you both retract your feedback and call it a day.... FYI, I would never leave a negative unless I was ripped off

I contacted a moderator. Don't really want it beat to death. I just try to honor the ill take it rule to be fair and don't feel people should cherry pick deals once someone has started the process already. Just my thinking I guess

Perhaps look on the bright side and consider yourself lucky. If the "seller" was willing to simply cut off communication with no explanation, then who know what else might have happened further along with the deal.

As far as feedback is concerned, both negatives will probably end up getting removed. The EE rules are pretty clear on when negative feedback can be left, and unless you'd established a firm commitment and specific timeline for the exchange of goods, then it's likely not warranted under the rules.

But don't fret it and move on... it means you still have the funds to pick up another deal when it comes around.

There is no such rule.
Other than a gentlemans agreement or cyber handshake so to speak.
This thread is bound to be locked, because it eventually will air dirty launch about a he said but he said scenario.
It's best to chalk it up to experience and move along to the next item offered for sale.
Then again the result is of a simple misunderstanding.

I dont personally see any problem with what the OP has done. It really sounds....mind you from only one side of the dispute....like the guy agreed....then got a better deal....in that the item was sold to someone closer. It really amounts to a auction then....since the two were negotiating meeting for the FTF transaction, and the seller sold to the buyer that would then cost less time and fuel money....more of a net to the seller after the " i will take it". IMO the OP also did the right thing in being proactive by contacting a Moderator.

I would personally like either a negative or neutral to remain with the seller. If all feedback is good, then what use is the feedback system. I imagine the thread will be closed and the ratings deleted....since how do you leave feedback, when there is no transaction.

Exactly what happened. Most times I've had this happen with new members who don't do many transactions and don't really care about etiquette. Just want the sale. Hopefully some newbs read this and take something from it.

No such thing as I'll take it. I noticed a new trend of people saying they will take it and that is last you'll hear from them. Unless money is sent within 24 hours move onto the next. I'm sitting waiting 2 weeks for a MO, that my guess is never was sent.

Weather its a rule or not I respect it when it is stated to me. I give a reasonable amount of time to send emt or send MO. All the while maintaining communication about weather it was sent or not. I would never sit for two weeks waiting unless I was told when it was mailed. Otherwise buyer will be told I will move on without the above being met. I always do get confirmation from "first I'll take it" before moving on. Then next in line gets priority.

After reading your guys' feedback to each other, it seems there was maybe some miscommunication? I for one won't drive one hour each way to meet up for a potential deal, unless it happens to be something that can't be shipped and a price is mutually agreed upon beforehand.
I don't know the particulars in this case, but it seems the seller wanted a guaranteed sale before committing to driving to meet up. Maybe you'd have to elaborate on that, I'm just going by what I see.

There is a procedure for reporting concerns about feedback. A PM to a mod. isn't it.
Both feedbacks are removed. Time to stop wasting bandwidth on this.
