Some finds in the RRPG style

Hi I was inspired to post a few finds from the parade grounds at Jericho beach. At low water we would go under the pier. Found a lot of stuff including an Iver Johnson 1911? hammerless,50 cal dummy, countless
buttons and cap badges. Cheers



The Iver was the size of a peewee football. Soaked in muriatic acid and it limbered up kind of

Nice find P, fond memory of the hangars and the tiny range there before it was turned to a park.

Iver Johnson and 7.62 blanks, a lot of year between those.

Hi T. Yeah that was a hot spot! I believe they built or repaired planes in the vicinity as we found lots of aluminum and parts. I don’t remember that but that’s what we were told. RR not the volume you pull out but it was a good time with the detector! Cheers

That Iver Johnson has the original style of latch which makes it a first model Safety Hammerless and they were only produced in 1895/1896! Some cool finds for sure

Most likely a .32S&W (the short one) but they were also produced in .22 and .38S&W

Regardless of caliber, it was black powder only until they redesigned the frame for the 3rd model

more about the RCAF jericho beach air station before it was donated to the city for a dollar.

the pic in the link is an old pic cos since then i remembered huge round tanks like the ones on burnaby mountain on the site.

upon closer look, there are two oil tanks behind the hangars, they are not as big as i remembered , i guess everything looks big when we were kids.

hey p, you think the pistol you found was issued to an officer? if so i wonder what happened to him for losing it?
