Hi I was inspired to post a few finds from the parade grounds at Jericho beach. At low water we would go under the pier. Found a lot of stuff including an Iver Johnson 1911? hammerless,50 cal dummy, countless
buttons and cap badges. Cheers



The Iver was the size of a peewee football. Soaked in muriatic acid and it limbered up kind of

Nice find P, fond memory of the hangars and the tiny range there before it was turned to a park.
 
Hi T. Yeah that was a hot spot! I believe they built or repaired planes in the vicinity as we found lots of aluminum and parts. I don’t remember that but that’s what we were told. RR not the volume you pull out but it was a good time with the detector! Cheers

Most likely a .32S&W (the short one) but they were also produced in .22 and .38S&W

Regardless of caliber, it was black powder only until they redesigned the frame for the 3rd model
