Some Glock help

Well I am now the owner of a slightly used glock 17.

A couple things are different then the one my friend has.

Mine is a gen3 his a gen1. So other then the differences in the frame some internal bits are different.

When I remove the slide I have depress the trigger slightly. This normal?

The trigger pull and creep are very heavy compared to his even with his normal disconnector in it. What can I do to lighten it up and still keep it production legal?

You have a NY trigger spring in there, instead of a regular trigger spring. Come to the work party tomorrow, and I'll spot you a regular trigger spring.

Polish up the trigger bar, striker tip, and the firing pin safety with the dremel and you will get a slightly better feel. It is quite easy to do the detail strip and this "$.25 trigger job".

Well Bartledan gave and installed a new trigger spring and we removed the NY1 trigger spring. Much better now.

Before I do anything else I am going to shoot it some first.

Do you dry fire the gun before you field-strip it? you need to pull the trigger before you remove the slide or you're doing it wrong.

Just a tip ...
Don't put a Gen 1 slide on a Gen 3 ... it's a ##### to get it off ....

I no longer have to hold the trigger down.

I did dryfire it before removing the slide.
