I took the Tribe out of the safe house and got em lined up for a photo (some may like gun ####)

I have a likeness to Black guns an these are Hunting rifles no safe queens or Range darlings.

Each fits its purpose very well and im happy with Calibre selection

A Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .35 Whelen (35-06) with a Leupold VXII 2-7x33
a "Walk them up" Rifle and Cartridge for those hunts in thicker bush where shots are expected closer than farther, typically one doesn't walk far from Camp/Vehicle as the added weight is unpleasant after big days afield. has been there an done that now retired for specialty hunts.

A Remington 700 in .270Winchester with VXII 3-9x50
Primarily a Fallow Rifle but turned into MLR Deer hunting outfit proving more than enough for Sambar stags at the 300m mark, flat trajectory and hard hitting this thing is my Darling.

A Tikka T3 .308Winchester with Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40
My everyday Walk about, Trek about Rifle for Sambar. No frills use an abuse rifle.

How does the Burris compare to the Leupolds?

I was wondering that too.

I have a few 'gold-ring' Leupolds .. which I love .. and one Burris E1 3-9x40 .. which I will probably sell.
Not that there's anything wrong with the Burris E1 .. quite the contrary, it seems to do everything perfectly.

The ONLY thing I do not like about the Burris .. is that it is not a Leupold.
Hmmm .. Does that make sense?

very nice working guns .only thing missing is something fast and small .204 or 22 250 .some thing we would us for coyotes and fox ,what you got there for that kind of game Dutch

Hey fellas.

Im the same as Savage, its not a Leupold! although it was on the rifle which we swapped out as a outfit, my Abolt 300wsm had a Redfield on it and the T3 had the burris.

I actually like it though, its clear an works fine, not bad in low light but I don't think its quite the VX2, id rate it along side the vx1 maybe. I like the crosshair though. certainly a good pick up for trade of a Redfield revolution :) although this one has been dropped an is quite scratched etc... but I don't mind.

Yeah its not my whollle tribe, I own a Marlin 22mag, Sako A1 .222, 12g SxS shotgun, .410 Single shot, BRNO ZKW 465 .22 hornet , R#1 303 , 94 375BB but I only had 2 arms to carry the Dark horses out with LOL.

Yes, it is soft #### :)

glad some like to see rifle pics :) I doo

Dutch, we have Red Foxes and Wild dogs down here, so basically similar to a coyote. I had a photo up of a big pure bred Dingo I shot on private land, they are protected apart from on private land, not many left.

Can get tags to shoot Kangaroo, or if you live in the country... they kinda jump into the bullet path from now an then ... ;) so the little zippers do their job, 223 is most common an 22-250

these days I only shoot Foxes and Deers locally.

heres the big dingo which is close to a coyote size id say

he fell to a 308 and a 150gr accubond

Your dog is exceedingly well trained, and let's see the guns wearing walnut, No.1s and Winchesters I can appreciate. ;)

Your pant is too long for your legs and your clothes is too thick for the hot weather in Australia. LOL

Never mind, I like joking around here.

haha, they are Gaitors, to prevent snake bite! it gets cold where I am mate, snow on the hills not 80k away and handful of times a year the snow is down on the foothills around town :)

Here is some Walnut ####

Hmmm .. Does that make sense?

I've got three Burris scopes, all of them older. A Signature 3-9x on my Stevens 30-06 (yes, I know, pricey scope on a cheap rifle but it was a marriage of convenience and the results speak for themselves), a 3-9x Fullfield II on my 25-06 and a 2-7x Fullfield on my 300 H&H. Very good glass. The scopes themselves are a touch heavier than a comparable Leupold however I believe that is due to heavier lenses in the scopes themselves. I've found, and I don't know if it's just me, but there is very little "black ring" when you mount the rifle and have the scope properly positioned. I'm not talking about the tunnel vision you get from improper eye relief, rather the actual black ring from the thickness of the eyepiece bell of the scope. To my eye that thickness seems less than it does with other scopes. YMMV but I wouldn't pass up a used Burris in good condition if I found it on the table at a gunshow or in the used glass case at the gun store.

Looky we have a few Poisonous ones, King Brown Snake, Tiger Snake, Red Belly Black Snake in my hood... the bush Tigers will go you an chase you somewhat, the King brown speaks for itself an the Black is generally OK but will still strike ya!! peace of mind with the Gaitors i suppose.

Yeah its just a strip of camo tape wrapped on it long ways, i dont own stainless rifles that i hunt with apart from Marlin 22m and the Tikka, i found in low light an particularly sunny days the Stainless really stood out! so the tape fixed that problem!

Yup, lovely bitta gear that 3-0 , Iv only shot a Fallow deer with it to date but ita been shot over the back of a Sambar .. dammit!!
Maybe nxt year!

I could not blast a dingo jes because I love dogs too much, but feral cats are on fer me. Besides, dingos make
decent pets if raised from pups. (Yeah, I know it ain't legal in AUS)

Nice Winny BB '94. Should give 'er a go on some big critters.;)

No its not Illegal, some friends have had Dingoes for many years and there certainly not a common pet although they are out there! these ones are real old so they are trying to get ahold of some pups from the few others who have them as pets.. must be some permit involved.

Yo i hear you on the Dingo, im not sure if i mentioned here but i was in 2 minds about it although my friends family sheep farm was 200m away so i saved them around 100 newborn lambs... i did tan it as it doesnt happen often.

That 375BB Has a few Angus Bulls to its name LOL, apart from that just the usual, i think its had about 8 sambar kills with 220gr hornady reloads :) good short range accuracy with williams peep!!!

what sorta critters you got in mind?

When im back from my knee reconstruction il be carrying either R#1 or 375BB in sit an wait hunts.. i look forward to bringing you guys more photos of my success
