My Service number, ( B547### ) was issued in 1958. Although it was an Artillery Regiment, it was the perpetuation of the 2nd. Battalion, Dufferin and Haldimand Rifles. This number block was not found in the Clive Law Book, but there is a later published book that is much more extensive, and I did find it in there. I really should have picked one up at the Toronto Military Show in April, but got sidetracked. I will have to put it on my "to do " list.
The original Military Districts in Canada were Numbers but later were changed to a Letter prefix. Regiments were allotted a "block" of Service numbers to use, and it apparently depended upon where you enlisted.
