Hey John this is a totally unrelated question but I figure you may know the answer. In 1996 I was firing a FAL on an army range and we were having problems with misfires, hangfires, and other types of mishaps. The RSO blamed the "Crappy jap surplus" that we were using. Keep in mind he was old and fuddy so Jap could have meant anything, but do you have any idea what kind of 7.62 surplus the cadet core was using in the 1990's? Did you come across this back then?
