Today I was out hunting and a crew cab truck full of "hunters" decided to "follow me around".

I took a few turns and tried driving slower than a slug in hopes they would bug off,but they insisted on following my every move.

I drove past where I had planned on going,then I backed up trying to lose these a**holes,but-These guys backed up as well and followed me to the herd of deer I had been watching all year!

These "hunters" sat on my ass like 10 yards away as I drove,even when I found the herd.I was really bugged out and pi**ed off that these guys could not go there own way, on there own hunt.

It ruined my hunt and cost me dinner tonight.

The hunting rules are vague at best and I don't need 5 possibly drunk a**holes ####-tating the way "they" think things should be or whatever their plan was....I am a lady who happened to be driving my car alone on the grid roads hunting (my hubby was a phone call away with the truck).

So if I got a nice buck would these guys all jump out shooting and try to "claim" my deer while I waited for my truck???

Some people are so rude,my husband had a group of guys do exactly this to him last year as well!!

Most hunters around here go another direction if they see others hunting near the same roads and so do we.Most of the locals around here know this-it's usually when the "weekend warriors" come out from the city on the weekends with a truck load of guys,that this happens!

This was no accident that they just "happened" to go down a few roads I did...

I think calling 911 would of worked for you here.

A call to 911 for what? Did you ask them to stop following you? What they did is perhaps rude, but as you were not actively hunting at the time, I doubt its illegal.

I thought about it more I actually would have been a little worried.

If the boys in blue showed up, it would of proved for sure whether
the chaps/cowards were impaired or not.
Sure wouldn't want my wife/daughter in this situation.

Perhaps the intent was to disrupt smily1's hunt . . . which it did. I agree with others, a call for help would have been reasonable and prudent given the circumstances. Intervention by the police or game guards could have resulted in preventing an assault, dealing with the possibility of individuals with open liquor in a vehicle, and at the very least, resolve any issue of intentionally interfering with a legal hunt. That situation is pretty creepy when you think about it, and I’m glad things didn’t get any worse for you smilely1.
 
Just want to throw this out there... maybe they had an issue with an anti or with someone trespassing on their land and were following her out of suspicion?..... could be some sort of misunderstanding?

So, if it where your wife, daughter , girlfriend it would be ok then?

Five guys with guns in a truck following her around in the bush several miles from the closest LEO???

She didn't say they wsere drunk.... she said they were "possibly drunk".... if they were following her from behind what makes you so sure they even know she was a woman?....

Don't make assumptions as to what my priorities are... I simply think there may be more to the story than we, or even the OP, know.....

Given that the OP had quotes in the term "hunters" I'm guessing that she wasn't 100% sure either. The leap could go either way. Regardless...

So in this case is it not only interfering with a lawful hunt under the provincial legislation, it is an offence under the criminal code. Given how some police react when told by a lady over the phone "there are a bunch of guys following me around in a truck, and I think they have guns", I wouldn't think that anyone doing what these idiots did are very smart to begin with. Even if it is only a case of lazy hunting.
 
I hope you got the license plate number because you should still report this to the police and let them deal with it...it's hard to say what these guys had in mind.

5 white, orange, red or yellow suits doesn't leave a lot of doubt about whether they were hunting or not.
 
Being followed even after you make obvious moves to allow them to pass by is very strange. I would suggest at times like this it would be best to abandon the hunt and drive directly to a farm where you know the people well. If they follow you into the farm yard seek assistance from the people in the house or phone some one else.

You just can't take a chance these days especially if you are alone. They may have just wanted to see where you hunt or maybe they may of had other intentions.

If I were going to my spot and there were some other hunters following I would of drove right by and led them on a bit of a wild goose chase to see just how persistent they were.
 
I don't know about you guys... but when road hunting (hey you have to get to the camp site, you never know what you will see on the way) the second vehicle only gets the deer if its 500M behind the first one and catches a deer coming out of the bush in the wake of the first.

So fallowing close behind another road hunter isn't going to net you any game.... if I was alone I would be making my way to civilition... then getting out and asking them '"WTF?" if they were still fallowing. No good will come and confronting them on a back road 20km for nowhere ville.

I don't see how it was interfering with a lawful hunt. She was driving around looking for a place to hunt. They were following her. She was road hunting, and so were they if they were hunters. She assumes they were, just like she assumes they were drunk. There are a lot of assumptions here.

Telling her to lie to the police, so she can hunt is poor advice coming from this site. I think she did the right thing by going home and making sure she was safe. If they had followed her home, then she has every right to call the Police and say a truck full of men were following her around. Nothing more. Leave out that she thinks their drunk or have guns. You all would be upset if someone call the cops on you without having proper facts.
