I'd like to fit as many components from an AK to an SKS reciever as possible, barrel, receiver cover, gastube, furniture...everything...please donate an AK kit... Kasat, did you manage to use the ak bolt, or is that a massaged SKS piece?

I did not alter the action except trimming the top of the bolt carrier to fit under the AK cover. I am not sure about the legality of it since anything with the AK action (except 3 Valmets) is prohibited. The benefits of doing so are questionable too since you would have some gases blown back into the receiver and the top cover being to short for the SKS receiver would have the gases blown in your face so , forget it.

Try bugging Armedsask , he was experimenting with the idea of coming up with a kit. Don't know the status of his project though. I only make for myself and most of the work is done by hand. It's not easy !!!!! AK parts are harder to get now and if you find them you have to reach deep in your pocket so the cost is significant. Is it worth it ? For me "YES" , but one should remember that it won't shoot any better than an unmodified one , just looks cool and that's it.
