Some interesting new stuff coming soon...

The pure blowback carbines have always been a bit of a compromise. In order to balance the recoil forces from the round these systems need to add considerable weight to the carrier and buffer. They also utilize an overly long BCG travel as well. The result being a lot more felt recoil than is necessary.

A DI system is much smoother, has less felt recoil and most importantly from my perspective is that they do not require a buffer. Thus the CCS type of stock can be used to reduce the weight and OAL of what should be a compact carbine or SMG type of firearm.

A 9mm SMG that is the same weight and OAL as a 556 carbine is silly IMO.

Yes they do.

I modded mine with a buffer tube spacer (the quarter trick found on AR15 .com) so the travel just clears the hold open catch. Much better now, very little perceived recoil.

9mm ARs are notorious for breaking bolt catches (I have read), due to the excess travel rear wards and the force coming forward at the bolt catch due to the "run" it gets at it.

Wonder what mag it uses? Hopefully a pistol mag of sorts to squeeze 10 rounds into it.

+1....any idea when it'll come into production. I'm actually wondering if it will be even classified as a rifle instead of a pistol because of barrel length. Obviously there are various forms of other black rifles hacked down in the pistol class.

Won't be long until someone invokes Godwin's Law

Laugh2

You know who else liked 9mm machine pistols? Ya you know..

:)

The first AR I ever shot was a 9mm. 50 yard pistol range shooting metal. I was sold on the AR after that. The AR was a lower cost Olympic Arms. Lots of fun, but the Olympic arms reputation did prove itself as I recall the owner had a fair bit of maintenance with it. Glad to see Olympic Arms getting some competition in the 9mm AR field.

Oh wow!

A dedicated 9mm AR variant that's sure to be restricted, how ingenious!

Or you could buy a Sub-2000 and shoot it wherever the hell you want - You know, a REAL, "dedicated" 9mm rifle platform. :/

We Canadians are so patriotic... hating on a Canadian manufacturer... you guys are doing a wonderful job keep it up!

I love Canadian manufacturers and buy Canadian whenever I can.

That being said, how many Canadian companies do we have producing restricted AR variants right now?

There's no innovation in producing yet another AR variant. Sorry.

Just came across these...

Dedicated 9mm AR

Can't wait to get my hands on this!!
Ya Ya I know its tactie cool, but what are ya gonna do with it. Kill a moose, deer, bear, people? Only thing I can see using something like this for is when the Zombies come or T#### or home defense. Too expensive for me to shoot and I reload.

What would you do with it?

How about same thing as any other restricted rifle or handgun...take them to the range and have fun with them.

As for 9mm being too expensive to shoot.....don't quite no what to say to that other than it is one of the least expensive centre fire calibers to shoot...
