Some interesting new stuff coming soon...

I was hoping the pic was just a quick mock up, the mag well looks too thin for any mag.

Oh well, another boring "me too" 9mm AR.

I want a PDW that takes Glock mags and has a last shot bolt hold open.

Is that too much to ask?

C'mon guys, think outside the box a little....

I'm with you. Why can't this be done?

Yer gonna eat those words. This thing is very different from the average 9mm AR and contains quite a lot of outof the box thinking.

I had a great Colt 9mm smg i never should have sold. It was accurate as hell. I want a dedicated one again

It locks? - for real? (not just 'cause it has a god forsaken heavy bolt/spring) cool.

Yes, it works just like a DI rifle caliber AR. Has a gas block and everything.

I hope I will.

If this thing is DI, they will have a LOT of issues to address to make it run reliably with a variety of factory ammunition. I'd be interested to know their test protocols.

Oh, and please tell them I want Glock mags!:D

Ughhh, the Glock mag variants look horrible. I can assure you this version does not use Glock mags.

If it has a hammer that falls on a firing pin then duct taped ar upper will fire

That whole line of reasoning is of course absurd because at that point a bolt action will be faster to fire than a single shot ar. Good ol gubernment keeping us safe....

It looks quite a bit shorter than a standard AR.

I wonder if it would fail the "duct tape an AR upper to it to see if it fires one round so we can call it an AR variant" test that the Firearms Lab likes to use.

I stopped caring about what guns look like when I started shooting Glocks. Now I just care if they work.

Well, I guess there is just no pleasing me then. :D

Apparently not.

While I agree that function over form is def preferable it is a mistake to overlook the aesthetics of any consumer product. Few people will buy an ugly car regardless of how good it is.

Personally this does not look that bad, I always liked the idea of a pistol catbine and your side arm or backup weapon using the same mag.

What is the advantage of a DI over a blowback on a pistol cal carbine ? Would like to hear your assessment.

The pure blowback carbines have always been a bit of a compromise. In order to balance the recoil forces from the round these systems need to add considerable weight to the carrier and buffer. They also utilize an overly long BCG travel as well. The result being a lot more felt recoil than is necessary.

A DI system is much smoother, has less felt recoil and most importantly from my perspective is that they do not require a buffer. Thus the CCS type of stock can be used to reduce the weight and OAL of what should be a compact carbine or SMG type of firearm.

A 9mm SMG that is the same weight and OAL as a 556 carbine is silly IMO.

I stopped caring about Glocks when I found out they were top heavy plastic bricks. But they are reliable as hell. And the mags are cheap enough and easy to find.

But people also don't like spending a small fortune on mags, unless it happens to be A LOT of mags at one time.

Thanks , always wondered why my 9mm colt felt like it had way more recoil than it should for a pistol cal. Just never put much though into the physics of it.
