Some interesting reading on bullets and lead contamination

From what I remembered my toxicology class is than, elemental lead is not very readily absorpted. It needs to "ferment" and methylate by bacterial to make it into your system. At which point it acts as a neurotoxin.

Good point. By itself the lead is fairly inert. Until its properties change, it won't enter the body. The digestive tract of course is open on both ends. So what changes will be enabled by stomach acids?

Some study somewhere linked tea drinkers to less heavy metal problems, example my father has been a mechanic since 1961 and lived soaked in leaded gas, has been tested for metals yearly (at a doctor's request) result:negligable amounts.
