Shoots great. And i think he has tables set up at the local gun shoes around manitoba. And at the big canadian one in calgary i believe. Dont be afraid to call him either if he has time he has no prob talking for a couple hours about boom sticks.

he just rebarreled a rifle for me exellent work a hell of a lot faster than any of the gunsmiths around here and really good people to deal with

He re-barreled and chambered my f-tr in what has to be record time for any gunsmithing I've ever had done. Good to go in my books

I thought I would try him a few years ago as well. When I got it back it had a nice paint job and that was about it, I took him a Rem 700 action and was told he would true it up. When I picked it up he told me that it did not need done, it was one of the best 700 actions he had ever seen and most of them did not need it anyway, right then I knew i got screwed. I took it home and after several hundred rounds of trying to build a load gave up. He did not want to address any of the issues the rifle had and was not willing to do anything with it. I took it to another gun smith to have it looked at and he spent the time to show me what was all wrong with the rifle. To start with the bedding job was bad, it still had stress on the action and you could see the imperfections( I knew this because I questioned him about it), then after looking through a bore scope I could see the chatter marks from reamer from poor chamber job. The fire pin hole was off set and much larger than fire pin (as many of the new SPS actions are) and how the bolt needed to be timed. So after having the action trued, fire pin bushed, bolt timed, rechambered and rebedded I can't be more happy, the rifle is now unbelievably accurte. This was the first custom rifle that i had built and it was a few years ago now and I have learned alot since and I hope Gerry has too. I am not really into this internet bashing crap but since then I have seen a few people post some of his stuff on this site and I thought it was time to share some of the not so good work that he has done. In fact some might not even safe, A friend of mine also had him build a rifle at the same time and his had all the same issues as mine, his after 2 firings split almost all the necks on the brass. He also took it to have it looked at and it also have a very poor chamber job and the barrel was barely hand tight. I know I will never deal with him again.

All opinions/experiences are welcome for sure, one sided stuff is what a forum is not supposed to be about. Unless you think this forum is full of bahhhd scahhry guns.......

Anyone else have any good/bad stories about this guy. I talked with him at the Calgary Show for a while about a build. His work looked nice, just wonder if he is the right guy for the job??

I have seen a few of his guns look pretty but shot like ####! If my custom shot like that i would be pissed! but those guys spend the money and got them redone again and they shoot well now! But what do i know i am just a bitter person!
