Some More 28 Gauge ammunition

They are 2.75" ill post a pic when I get home. My daughter's in jiu-jitsu right now
Thanks for that information and the picture. To be sure ,I am a bit surprised that 5/8 ounces of steel shot works that well.Having never tried it, I am in no place to say any thing on it.Your in field use comments, are much appreciated .The 28 gauge Federal ammunition I have, is the same as the ones in your picture.

Nice stash Bryben !!
All my 28 ga stuff is for target shooting. Actually, gonna take it to the club on Wednesday for a bit of skeet ! Been a while for that awesome little gun !

I use a mod choke with the steel. Actually I use the mod choke for skeet to with lead. I did recently receive an extended ic choke which I havent tried yet

The bulk of my 28ga ammo is aa #8 for skeet. I have about a flat of heavy field loads and a flat of steel. My 28ga doesnt get much use. I prefer the 20ga for game n clay

The 20 is the sweet spot. It lacks with buck shot but everything else its almost as good as a 12. Lighter and slimmer than a 12 yet delivers more payload and is better with steel than a 28
I love the a400 xplor 28 dont get me wrong I just appreciate the extra versatility I can get with a 20 while not having the weight and frame size as a 12
Yet I carry an 11.6lb sxs 10ga goose hunting so what do I know

As I've posted long ago here or another site, I've found the factory loads of steel #6 (5/8 oz) to be nearly useless on large & medium-sized waterfowl. OK for teal, but I gave up using it for general waterfowling years ago. Catnthehat / ironcat had loaded up some fantastic hand loads of bismuth & niceshot years ago and for a few seasons I was slaying waterfowl with the 28 gauge. But I've run out now, and I think the price & availability of non-tox shot has put a halt to cat's 28 gauge reloading.

I remember your comments on the 28 gauge 5/8 ounce steel loads and you speaking quite highly of Cat's 28 gauge hand loads.
