some new remakes

a 303 certainly is capable but ballistic facts are undisputed the 308 when put to the limit is more capable then a 303 just a fact you could get superior acuracey on average out of a 308 at 1000m then you can from a 303,
and undisputed is the choice of ammo for the 308 is far greater and i have no problem with people that enjoy using a 303 and like i stated earlier there is about 17 of them in the family already so i am not interested in having another one i am interested in remade brand new classics

If you are going to put a .308 to the limit then you should consider putting the .303 to the limit as well. The case capacity of .308 and .303 is essentially the same. Given similar case capacity, similar bullet weight and shape, similar barrel length, and similar rifle quality, performance is going to be really similar. Do you believe that a .308 loaded with a 175 SMK and a .303 loaded with a 174 SMK are going to shot that much differently at long range? Incidentally, why 1000m (who shoots 1000m? Usually it is 1000y or 900m)?

Pretty much everyone on here reloads so your ".308 is better then .303" doesn't carry much weight......:)

must have spent too much time listening to the guys at the gun counter :D

303 is just fine and comparing it to 308 is like splitting hairs.

If you are looking for something with a military feal but new try the M305 from Norinco

If you like the AIA rifles I can tell you they are a very strongly made rifle, appear to be real quality. I believe they would be stronger and more durable than a 7.62 converted No 4 Enfield, plus the action will just plain work better, feed, and ejection- the AIA throws em across the room. If the price doesn't scare you away you would be happy with one.
I saw one on the EE the other day for $700, a No 4 Mk 4. Not sure if it's still there.

thanks fellas i value everyones opinion well i think i will buy a AIA this december and a norinco kkw look alike and try droping a bruno in that stock
ps I respect the 303 brit as my father has a very extensive collection of old lee rifles
