Some old sks ammo i have kicking around. Any one have some info on this stuff

I found one empty box of this ammo at my range. Its not as old as you may think, it is from South Africa UAR. Some of their ammo was loaded hot, but for handgun ammo generally. 7.62x39 is probably ok. SKS blast away

The NGA is definitely from RSA, but they repackaged lots of captured and surplus ammo. Tough to be sure of its exact origin without seeing the headstamp. The steel cased ammo is Russian commercial. Both should run fine in your SKS, but clean for corrosive.

It is non corrosive hollow point but they call it ball.
The NGA is nice stuff. Only have 200rnds left

NGA was good Berdan-primed ammo. Made in South Africa.

The hollow point looks like the Russian stuff that was sold in 120 rds "milk carton" battle-pack packaging in the '90's. Non-corrosive. Good stuff and no longer seen in that configuration here in Canada

Like I said, NGA did a lot of repackaging of captured and surplussed ammo. Without seeing the headstamp I would not be sure that it is corrosive or not. Either positively ID the rounds in question, or always clean as if corrosive. You really don't want to guess and end up with a ruined bore.
