Gentlemen, a friend of the family has asked me to help him out. He has some handgus he is considering selling....and would like to know an *approximate* value. I have to stress that these really are from a very nice old man, and I'd love to purchase them....but out of the three two are prohib (and I can't buy them :( )

This is all the info I have at this point, so please list your opinions based on the (limited) info I have.

First: 9mm Luger, Exc. condition, one mag, he says he thinks it was made at the mauser factory?

Second: .455 Webley revolver, short barrel (less than 4.25") black plastic grips, I'm told it is in very nice shape save a chip on one of the grip panels....he says it was made well before 1940

Third: Browning High Power 9mm, marked "MK1", parkerized, belgian, exc. condition.

Thanks for any info I can pass on.

Condition is everything, so it is pretty hard to give even an approximation based on an accurate make and model which you have not provided. Lugers values also fluctuate wildly based on manufacturer and date of manufacture.
If it helps Lugers start at about $350 for mismatched, good condition, Webly's about $250 for serviceable with little finish, and prohibited.
BHP about $400 for very good condition, no special collectable features.

That much for a Webly? I must have got a steal. Gun, dies, and 100 brass (50 loaded) for under $100. He was surprised I didn't try to talk him down.

If you are going to take pictures look over this thread first.
