As for my posts on this site, many of them are indeed about importing a firearm from the US, and getting an ATF Form 6NIA permit. They are part of a running thread, highly detailed, about how to do it. If you have a problem with that thread, or think that it is the product of trolling, let me know, because judging from pm's that I've received, there are apparently quite a few people who think that it is useful: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233640 Not only does that thread not criticize anything, except the alleged complexity of importing a shotgun, but the posts have taken many hours of work, and are an attempt on my part to make a concrete contribution to this site and demystify a process about which there is a lot of confusion. Apparently that isn't good enough for you.

Suck it up, the course isn't that long or that expensive and does create a basic level of knowledge, some people still fail it! If you don't like the commercial aspect of it---don't buy--go to your local dealer. As for the retards who tried to buy the actual licence by email you were not listening, your card will not have the necessary T classification, that is why they give you the certificate so you can verify you have taken and passed the course when you go to a retailer or a Service Ontario to buy your licence the MNR take their time getting it recorded in their computer. They spent at least 5 minutes and told you at least twice this fact-- which your bored, closed little minds failed to relate to. Once again suck it up and appreciate the fact that the OFAH is one of the reasons you have turkey to hunt, a fall season, and Sunday hunting in some areas
 
I agree with art.h. It seems every spring we have a few whiners on here complaining about the fact that they had to spend one Saturday out of their busy lives to be afforded the privilege of being able to hunt a species that nobody's been able to hunt for a hundred years. But look on the bright side. Once you've taken the turkey hunting course, you never have to take it again.

I will not be contributing any further posts to the thread that I've been running about the importation of shotguns and the ATF Form 6NIA Permit. A person has to be completely stupid to spend hours and hours writing stuff that records how a real importation works if the net result is that they are attacked personally by cheap shot artists.

I am finished, as of this minute, with CGN. It just isn't a good fit for me.

Put it this way.. if you can get your boating license online, which has a lot more rules to know then the turkey hunting, then I don't see why it can't be done online.. Safety has already been covered to death by the regular hunting safety course (is turkey hunting really that different then the rules you have already be taught).. the rest is turkey identification.. again.. is it reallly that hard to spot a beard.????
 
BTW: as far as the reintroduction goes. It was a good idea, however personally I see it backfiring on them in a few years.. you are going to get a lot more angry farmers (then there are hunters) who have crop damange due to the overpopulation that will happen. The MNR has always been behind in the management control (Eg the Deer overpopulation).. It's great to have the oppertunity to hunt, but based on the growth I've seen over the last 5 years, it's going to get out of hand soon IMO.

Your signature line about the server made me burst out laughing.

I'll be continuing the thread about importing a shotgun, and getting an ATF permit, on a different site. I really want to complete the story, having spent quite a lot of time on it, of how this shotgun is coming into the country, and also the process of getting a permit to take the gun back into the U.S. I'm finding that a lot of what is written about this stuff is less than accurate, so I figure that it can't hurt to document an actual transaction.

I use a really good company, MediaTemple, as a service provider, and I have a few dormant URLs, so it should work fine.

For those who are interested, I'll be posting the new URL for continuation of the discussion about importation/6NIA permits in the next couple of days.

Redge, you shouldn't leave because people are a little hard on you. If your around long enough you'll learn to grow a little thicker skin around here.

But honestly, having raised two kids, you come across as someone who is throwing a hissy fit because your not getting your way.

There is always room for improvement. If this bothers you this much, change it!

Have you actually tried to phone the OFAH. There are actuall people there who might direct yoou on your quest to "improve" things.

Beyond that, sorry, but I am finished with this site, and you have plenty to do with it. You can trash me for saying that, or think about it. Your choice.

I just have better things to do than spend serious amounts of time writing about a poorly understood process, only to get hammered by people who take cheap shots and label me as a troll. As far as I am concerned, you are nothing but a common bully.

You are entirley entitled to your view of the world, and I am entirely entitled to say that I don't need it.

In any event, I'm in the process of moving the substance of the thread that I've been working on, and that some people have found useful, elsewhere.

I wish you the best. Really.
