I am considering getting my turkey license, and was wondering if you guys could help me out with some questions.
What is it about pistol grips that make them suitable or preferred for turkey hunting? Do they provide a significant advantage? Or can one do just as well will a plain shotgun stock?
Secondly, are rifle-style fiber optic sights, or a red-dot a must on a turkey gun? Or can one do just as well with a rear bead and front fiber optic setup like on the Benelli Supernova?
I ask as I have been trying to decide on a new shotgun for a while, and would like one that could double as a waterfowl, AND turkey gun. Do you think the Benelli Supernova would fit the bill? I already know I love the fit and function of the gun. Just not sure if it would do well for turkey in it's plain configuration.
Thanks
