Some Ross Rifle Help

After years of searching, I finally picked up a Ross rifle. Its a Mk III that has been bubba'd and I would like to put the original rear sight on it. The front sight blade was removed and a commercial blade put in the dovetail. The good news is that the barrel hasnt been cut. The stock has been cut down and reshaped unfortunately

Before I post in EE, was wondering if you esteemed military surplus folks may be able to point me in the right direction for these parts

Ross sights

It would be best if you could post some pictures of the receiver and the front sight of your rifle. That way, someone will see if the necessary bases are intact and just what you do need. Otherwise, it is just a guess.

When you say the front sight is "dovetailed", do you mean slotted lengthwise?

Is there a small 1/8 inch high serial number on the left side of the barrel, just in front of the receiver?

What markings are on the rifle and where are they located?

To fully help you, more information is needed.

There is no serial number on the barrel - has the DCP proof marks on the receiver and barrel. English small proof mark and 303 on right side of barrel in front of receiver ring.

Its a Model 10 which I understood to be the same as a Mk III

The sight bases are fine. The rear sight base is there, you need a regular Mk III rear sight and the pin that retains it. You also need the tension leaf spring and the screw that retains it.

The front sight blade looks like an aftermarket one. The base is fine. You are missing the hood and 4 screws. Thousands of Rosses are missing the hood and 4 screws. Not so easy to find.

Your best bet is to frequent the Gun Shows and look into the parts boxes on the tables. Also, ask about the sights.

You might put a post on the EE Wanted for the parts.
