I'm not much of a photographer.

My meager collection.

The 29 and 17 have since been re-blued, and have acquired a full under lug 19 which is not shown.

Also, have a 617, but don't consider that one a classic example.

i didn't realize they made a 19 with a full under lug. i thought only the L frame 58X/68X had them

It's a custom made 19 (only lists 38spl on the bbl). Is 5xx not a re-incarnation of the 19?

ah ok, a custom. because they are different frames, I've never thought of the 58x as a re-incarnation but suppose it could be

Photographer I am not!

19-4 with full under lug.

Is the 586 series not a 686 series with a 19 size grip?

I can never figure out Smith's designation for stuff other than the 6 first digit sometimes meaning stainless.

I thought the 586 was just a 686 but blued rather than stainless. ( both L frames)
My 586 is definitely bigger than my K frame K38 pre model 14. AFAIK the 19 is a 14 with a slightly beefed up yoke

The K-Frame revolver is one of the most important innovations in Smith & Wesson history and was built specifically to handle the .38 S&W Special cartridge. Since its introduction in 1899, the K-Frame has been a favorite for military and police professionals as well as target shooters and enthusiasts. Today's K-Frame is available in .22 LR and .38 S&W Special.

This is where I got the 6X connection from. Me bad.

Some where I saw an advert for a Smith claiming it was a L frame with a K frame grip?
