Some sort of record for RPAL renewal??

Having heard a good many stories of outlandishly long PAL renewal wait times, some taking as much as several months, causing some gun owners a great deal of concern, I took the advice offered by the CSSA, (and some friends), and got my renewal under way well in advance of the expiry date.

Long story short - I was very surprized, to say the least, when my new RPAL showed up today - only 5 weeks, & 1 day, after I mailed the application in.

Perhaps the cause of the backlog that caused some of the aforementioned delays has been cleared, and the service that I experienced will become the norm.

I think mine was about 3 weeks a month ago.

faxed my LTATT last week. we'll see how long that takes.

Other personal government mandated documents are usually updated same day. Should we accept 5 weeks, & 1 day.

Best turn around for my last RPAL was 5 calendar days. Mailed wed, had on tues. I still maintain its a record.

You folks have had some excellent turn around times - certainly a lot better than many others I've talked with.
I know of at least three people who sent their RPAL renewals in at least a month before me, and they still don't have them back.
Strange stuff.

hmmm, I called the Alberta CFO to get my LTATT and I had it in 10 minutes after my phone call. The nice lady just sent it by email. Have not had to renew my RPAL yet though...
