So I just realized, there's one important tidbit of information that was never really fed down to me during any of my process of obtaining my RPAL and first firearm.
Does an ATT cover all restricted firearms that I own from point A to point B? Or do I need an individual ATT applied for and approved for each individual firearm that I purchase in order to take it to the range?

And the range that I recently joined told me that they approved and sent out my "license to transfer" last Monday so I'm assuming they mean my ATT considering they didn't sell me a gun or anything. lol (So they can't mean a permanent one-time transfer from one person to the next, ie "gun sale")

I'm just wanting to know because my first purchase is now in the mail and on it's way to me. :)

If it is your long term authorization to transport it will apply to all your restricted. You will receive a separate piece of paper that is the registration for each firearm. The transfer paper have the stipulations of it listed "ie" to gun range gun smith or border crossing etc. and name of the range you are registered with the RCMP. The paper they may have sent out if you already have your ATT is the paper with firearm model and serial that is being transferred from seller to you(temporary registration). This will be followed by you actual registration paper.

On the back of the ATT it says - "All restricted and prohibited 12(6) handguns registered to the residence of the authorization holder."

In a separate box it lists conditions and destinations. For NB it will show the residence, the range you are a member of, Also all CFO approved ranges.

So once you have the Registration Certificate, you should be good. The range probably means they sent an email to the CFO saying you were a member and could qualify for an ATT..

I'm in NB too...

The answer is maybe.

Lots of people have different ATTs, some for them individually, and some because their provice has different rules.

For example, Barbarian has a 12(6) license, but I don't, so my ATT is going to be different from his.

My ATT applies for all restricted firearms for which I possess the registration certificate. Some people in Quebec get screwed hardcore and their ATT lists a specific firearm and a specific range, so if they want to have multiple guns or attend multiple ranges they need to get a different ATT for each gun and range.

When you get your ATT read it carefully. Also, it's worth mentioning that the CFO can email documents to you, which can potentially save you a week of waiting for the mail.
