that his father has an old enfield rifle and he wanted to know about it.
A Longbranch with a sporting forend.
HOWEVER it has the original buttstock with a cheek piece and a CANADIAN No32 R.E.L. Scope!

Sounds like an easy restoration from a bubba to REAL MONEY!:D

I was thinking about offering him a complete & correct sniper for his sadly ruined one....

Unfortunately it sounds like he's in the 'States and that darn vulture PL has already made a play...

Actualy from a posting today, the only thing done to it was the foreend, handguards, and metal bits. The barrel has not been touched.
A relatively easy restoration.
According to him the rifle was bought many years ago when this stuff was everywhere and relatively cheap.
Aybody remember the $12.95 No4's or the Webleys you could get for under $25 complete with a "quick draw" holster and belt?
$30 for either a Colt New Service or a M1917 Smith?

I still remember when Klein's Sporting Goods in Chicago was selling no4Mk1T's with the transit case, scope, and scope can for under $100. Not smart enough to buy one then when I could get a 1903 Springfield from Montgomery Wards for $40
I did buy a 1931 trials T in the mid sixties that had the forend bubba'd. Took years to restore it and find a No32Mk1 scope.

I remember when lebaron used to sell all that stuff for about $100....who ever thunk it

(guess what i got in the mail on Christmas Eve ?) merry Christmas generous benefactor :D)
