Someone just gave me a CIL/Anschutz 125, no joke!

Is there anything I should know about this rifle? Tips, tricks, etc.

I know they're not overly valuable guns and parts availability is limited. The one I got needs some work and came without a magazine (I've already sourced a replacement one from a local gunsmith), but it's still a nice gift. :)

I'll post pics when I get home, and pics when I'm done fixing up the stock.

I have an old CIL/Anschutz single shot 22 I got when I was a kid and it's still my most accurate 22! GREAT gift!!! You owe someone a nice Christmas present for that! Congrats!

Hehe, he was a customer in my store (well, I work there... don't own the place) and we got in to talking guns, so he said he'd bring in this rifle and give it to me. I was a little skeptical as to if he would actually bring it in, and to my surprise, he did! He asked that I buy him a hat in return, so I consider it a fair trade. :D

Made for CIL by Anschutz----not valueable? Depending on condition----$300-$350. Very accurate-----Cowboy

Well, not overly valuable in comparison to other Anschutz rifles. ;) It's definitely a keeper though, the bore is pristine and it's in good working order. I'm refinishing the stock, bedding the action and floating the barrel. I wouldn't be surprised if it's my most accurate rimfire when I'm done.

I'm interested in your procedure on bedding this. The rear of the receiver of mine has a little side-to-side wobble when some force is applied.

What?

I feel for you dude...tell you what, I'll send you 2 hats (your choice!) and, rid you of this nightmare...
"There's a problem with my .22...no matter how many shots I take, I only manage one hole in the target"

Seriously, hats off (serious pun here...don't overlook it!)to the customer and, enjoy your hat's worth of accuracy!
