Someone needs to make a 7.62x25mm lever action

A '92 Winchester in .32-20 does that.
Availability of commercial softpoint 7.62x25 marginal.

I'm getting 1550.fps out of a 110mm barrel, I'm guessing in a 20" that felicity would be closer to 1800, with a Russian surplus tokarev bullet. Handloading can better that, I'm sure substantially, if I actually had a long gun to use for load development.
The 32-20 is a classic, but for convenience in every way, I'd take the 7.62x25, IF I could find the rifle for it.

I always thought the appeal was a zippy little projectile in a small package that isn't a restricted firearm?
The cost doesn't hurt, but I honestly don't understand why anyone can't see the merits of this cartridge outside it's surplus availability.

I think nobody builds them, as there isnt much commerical availability and it's based on the supply of surplus. Once the surplus supply is down then what?

I haven't looked extensively, but surplus 7.62 X 25 is about the same as 9mm in cost now. Maybe there are deals I'm not aware of.
I can't see a commercial offering in this calibre being viable for a major manufacturer. As a reloader, it would be kind of cool. Maybe the new 30 Super Carry would be an option commercial larger manufacturers could get behind for a carbine offering?
A 9mm with 90 grain bullets would give up some velocity to the 7.62 X 25, but not alot.
I always wished that a lever would be chambered with the .357 Maximum. That extra case capacity would be really advantageous in a carbine or rifle length barrel. Chances are regular 357 Mag would work as well, much like current .357 Mag/.38 Special carbines.

Personally I'd be inclined to stick with 9mm and load it hot if desired... A bolt or lever gun in custom chambering, adapted to feed any of the above rounds is entirely doable!

Here's that 30-357mag Chiappa m92 I did up. I'm pushing a 150gr round nose bullet @2,000fps. SUPER handy little bush gun!

If anyone is serious about it, hit me up...

Regards!
Paul.
