Instead of searching Google why not join a gun forum with Like minded people who probably have experience. then ask?

Oh wait lol.

People that take the time to reply with search google as the answer should be banned for 1 day. Unproductive waste.

Searching Google brings you to CGN!

If u know how to search its far less a waste than posting here AND you acquire additional knowledge from various sources. If u know how to post here then you already should know how online research works. Dont be lazy and look for answers yourself first unless you want everything to be done for you. If thats the case, become a politician or Liberal. :)

It's more about ####ty attitudes then ability. Or laziness. Telling someone to search google for themselves really ?

Let me.clarify. I search google for glock info. I get sent here and think ah all my questions will be answered. Then all I get is a bunch posts saying learn how to search google.

Yeah not the best for CGN IMO.

I am so confused about what all of the number systems are on the Glocks ??? What is the best and why?? Now throw in the generation whatever and I am even more messed up...is there a rule of thumb so I know what I am looking at? No disrespect to Glock lovers!
Rick:confused:

The first GLOCK pistol, the G17, was named as it normally holds 17 rounds, and after that they just followed the number sequence. The latest is the G43.

Actually no one knows for sure.

There were a few "17's"....
....17 rounds
....17 criteria for the new generation service pistol (Austria)
But what I found after my post above was that it was named so as it was the 17th development model (as mentioned by .325WSM).

I believe it was also mentioned in the book about Gaston Glock that it was the 17th redesign

- 17th patent submitted by Glock. The previous 16 were not firearm related. (I like this one best)
- 17th set of technical drawings.
- 17 rounds.

I'm not sure why Glock can't confirm so let the interweb mystery continue...
