Im confused. colt Canada, Diameco, SA20, M4, LE models, etc,,,

So many different colt AR lowers. And I’m not even looking at the different uppers available.

Price difference is all over the map. Why ? Are some made to Colt military standard ? some to civilian ? Some to LE ?

What’s the difference between all of those. Why is a SA20 three times the price of a M4 LE model ? Are the internals all different ? Or is it a different alloy ?

Colt CANADA is DIEMACO (die maker company), because colt USA bought DIEMACO.
DIEMACO build the Canadian C7 / C8 and other AR15/M16 platform for the Canadian forces as well as some LE (Law Enforcement) agencies.
The SA20 is a semi-auto C7 : Semi-auto 20inch barrel rifle.
The M4 is a US military designation of a specific M16 : carbine version improved of the M16.
The M16 is the US military designation of a specific full-auto AR15.

Ok. But are the internals the same on a SA20 and say an LE6920 or 6921 ?

the three should have mostly the same milspec AR15 lower parts kit.
Buffer could be different on the SA20 because it is mated to a rifle gas system upper, not sure on this one though.
Buffer on Both LE will be identical.
The SA20 as an ambi-safety selector, while on the LE COLT says the safety is reversible.

The price of the SA20 reflects their limited availability and favourability as it's the closest rifle you can get to the current CF service rifle, the C7A2. You also pay for a heavier profile cold hammer forged barrel thats made from the same blanks as the C9 machine gun barrels and furniture that is allegedly made for colder weather. Brand new, it also comes with an Otis cleaning kit which is nice.
