Someone stole my SIM card

I was trolling an anti hunter meeting in california a few years back, and one of the hippies said he regularly takes the card out of trail cams, takes a photo of his junk, and puts is back in the camera.

That is a lot of work for a lame prank. It would be much easier to cover your face, take off your pants and walk in front of the camera.

Ya know cam security cases are pretty cheap eh.

That's really not the point though is it? You should be able to put your hunting gear out in the bush without having to hire ADT Alarms to protect it! We're all supposed to be like minded individuals who share a common bond. I wouldn't even think of messing with another hunters gear. Hell I won't even climb into a permanent stand on Crown Land unless I know who owns it!

I would expect the same thing from a trespasser who got caught on my camera(s). Be thankful the camera was left. This is the reason why I don't use security boxes. If locked up in a security box, more than likely, the camera would be stolen. Locked to a tree? The tree probably cut down and the camera removed. I figure the more honest guys would just grab the card, or if they had the equipment, delete their pics and leave the card inside. I've had one card left in the ejected position after 2 days of pictures??? The key is to set up other cameras in different areas and have their pic ranges overlap...as already stated.

I carry a hatchet. When long term solo camping a small saw.

The average tree you put a cam on would be a hell of a job to steal a cam in a lock box.

It's like locking ur car door. All it does is keeps the honest out.

If someone puts in the effort to get a lock box off........ they may have done something much worse near by.

I carry a pocket chainsaw and could zip through that average tree (in my area) in a minute or two. If someone was caught somewhere they shouldn't be (trespassing) and felt they needed to get rid of any incriminating evidence for whatever reason, I'd much rather them walk off with my memory card than with my camera in the security box. This is different than dealing with a thief. Even if a thief doesn't have the equipment at the time, he could just come back later for the camera. The honest person would leave the camera alone completely. This is just my opinion on the matter.
