I picked up a few of the Toz-78-1 rifles from Armrus for $100 when they went out of business. Nice accurate guns, some with birch stocks, some beech, clear stain over them so kind of plain jane, but good shooters.

Saw this listed by Tradex and figured it would be a good companion for them...little fancier looking Toz 78-6. Haven't seen too many of these here in Canada.

You're a lucky man. I missed that on Tradex's site or I would have scooped it up quick! I have the 78-03 version and it's a shooter. Out shoots my CZ455 any day of the week. Had it out today banging the 100 yrd gong offhand at the range with open sights. It was so easy it was starting to get boring lol. I've been watching for a heavy barrel version for awhile now. Hopefully Tradex gets more.

So wish I could put a can on it.....lol
I don't know why shops don't bring these in...I see Frontier has the Toz-99 but they have a poor history of broken sears.

Toz is underrated, I have a 99. Crossing my fingers on the sear, but it will shoot the star out at the carnival any day! Beautiful stock and a threaded barrel for a silencer when they become legal. Lol.

Lol forgot about the effed up 8mm rail on these Russian guns....gotta try and remember what kind of rings are on my other rifle, look like Burris I think. Most of the 3/8" don't fit, and none of the spares I had on hand fit either....

Son & I both have 78's from Armrus - his was the last one they had when they were going out of business.
Also have a 99 that I bought used off of here and a 20 Gauge from Armrus - another $100 clearance.
The 78's are beautiful to look at, hold and shoot, probably the best deal in 22's ever.

I needed to get BLK steel rings and REALLY tighten them down on my TOZ 78s

Weaver quad-loc was what I had on my other one, got a set for the-6 and fit it fine. Had it out today, tac driver with Win 333 garbage lol. Didn't like blazers so much but the -1 loves them.
Great little gun, awesome trigger, glad I jumped on it.

What i don't get is, you see these Eastern European guns like the TOZ or the Zastava lines that have a reputation as good value, solid built rifles, then Remington or Winchester etc buy a bunch to remarket at twice the price and wonder why people don't buy them, then drop the line after a couple years....
