Looky's Tikka ( formerly mine ) is referred to as the Battue model, there are actually several in Canada.
I had a couple others that were identical, one in 7mm Rem. Mag., and the other in 338 Win. Mag.
Somewhere in my hoard of paperwork is a letter from the factory stating what they are called and apparently were a very popular model in Europe.
 
Sounds like you are thinking of sticking with a bolt action of some form. For myself, soon, the only one I will have left in bolt action, is a.22. Everything else will be a falling block or a break action SXS.
You may want to do some heavy research before considering a Forbes. In the price range of the Kimber/Forbes/Cooper are some decent over/unders for something different to look at, some of the combo guns are under 3000, and they are around to be had in Canada.
 
Don't buy a nice gun and be afraid to use it!!!!!!!
I love nice looking guns of all shapes, mainly classic bolt actions with good wood, but I hunt, haul trudge through, clamber and climb with all of them. I do how ever look after them waxing and oiling ect.
Just like any thing that is made for a purpose. Its supposed to be used!!!!!

Well, I took a step toward "something a little more" this weekend: I made a deal on a Sako 85 Bavarian Carbine in 30-06 with a bunch of extras.

I'm looking forward to receiving it, as it looks like a beaut.
 
The nicest rifle with the smoothest bolt I have ever used or owned is a sauer, Heym and styer are very similar. All are top notch rifles. If you want something in a lower price range, say around $1500 to $2500 a Kimber or cooper will fit the bill
