Something fishy about AAIcanada ''WTS : French sniper FRF2 coming soon'' thread?

Hey all,

I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed the big announcement on the Milsurp Rifles EE page for a pre-order of FRF2 rifle from AAIcanada...

Now not that I'm questioning the almighty admins on their vetting of business members, but before somebody sends $8000 for a pre-order to company with one post and a questionable website that accepts payment only by bank transfer or Interac... I figured I'd just pose the question- has anyone heard of these guys before?

Something smells a bit fishy when a new business pops up out of nowhere, offering a very desirable and near-unobtainable product at an astronomical price with no prior reputation, and demands payment by bank transfers.

Perhaps someone with $8000 to spare wants to test the waters? Or if anyone can vouch for them, speak up :)

I want this to be real, and I want to get my hands on an FRF2, buuuuuuuuuuuut my gut says something else here...

The post and their web site is missing crucial information.

1. Does an FRT exist? Just checked, it exists, just a bolt action rifle, so shouldn't be a problem to import.

2. Importation schedule?

Besides of that, I would never hand over that kind of money to a new business.

the small time guy wants 8k but wolverine wants 14k, how embarrassing...

Posted this in Wolverines thread but I'll post it here as well.

AAI's website says $8000....

You say $13,999......

Can you explain that huge difference for us peasants not in the know?

Is this another North Sylva circus where they jack up the prices big time just because they put their stamp on a few papers?

$6000 price difference WTF.......

Well AAI posted what the actual price for the rifle is and Wolverine cleansed their post immediately......

$7799 according to AAI on here, AAI's website says $7999 and Wolverine claims $14k........

By AAI's website pricing says $10,199 total with a scope before taxes/shipping/ect

Is this the M10X price hike BS all over again with old outdated french rifle instead?

Wolverine didn't gouge us with jacked up handgun prices, so I find it hard to believe they'd do us dirty with this rifle.

Meanwhile AAI looks a bit sketch. They're selling it for less than US stores despite the exchange rate? That seems peculiar at best.

I can't afford one either way, but I'd be VERY hesitant to give AAI money for a pre-order.

FWIW I believe Wolverine's $13k rifles come as a complete "Deployment Kit" with proper optics and accessories, while AAI's $8k rifles are just bare guns.

From the AAI ad:

Included with the weapon:

a bi-pod
a scope mount with rail
a strap,
two chargers
a 2-pocket mag pouch
two butt spacers
two cheek risers
a cleaning sheath en brass
disassembly tool/zippered carry pouch, oil bottle, field bag and field manual
carrying case

So it seems like its more than just a bare rifle. Not sure how exactly it compares to Wolverine, but thats a pretty good list of crap to come along with it. Doesn't look to come with the optic, which is probably a significant factor from a collectible perspective?

The pre-order is EMT only and its almost $10k after taxes and shipping? Thats some sketch ass ####.

I had a "wanted" ad for a SIG 540 a while back, and an individual from AAI contacted me through his personal CGN profile in early September, mentioning the coming of a few SIG 540s. (in .222) The individual provided the business email address and we exchanged communication and pictures, a pleasant experience over all.
The individual's personal CGN profile has many positive feedback reviews.

I would consider this advertisement and proposal to be valid and legitement.

So did you BUY a rifle from them? Or just get some pictures?
