Well this year I found out that I hate double stack pistols I bought a sig . 40 double stack and absolutely hate the wide grip. Besides all my 1911's that I am used to shooting what else in 9mm and. 45 has single stack frame ??

Sig P220 is a single stack design. They currently only manufacture the P220 in .45 ACP, but every now and then an older 9mm one shows up on the EE. Great guns, definitely worth looking at.

I will never own another ruger or glock both are catastrophic failures in my option.... maybe I will just stick to the 1911 platform thanx for the help

Honestly, you can't go wrong sticking to the tried and true 1911 platform. I have 1911's in .45 ACP, 9mm and .22LR and love them all. And all of the money that I save by not buying the latest, greatest flavour of the month handguns pays for a lot of ammo! ;)

No argument regarding your choice of 1911 as I love them myself, but why the hate for Ruger or Glock?

I like Rugers (the aluminum framed P series) and am contemplating a Glock 17so would like to know your experience with these.

I hate ruger period. . And I have seen to many glocks fail lush I seen one slide sheer off and mess up a guys face bad

I've only ever heard about unsupported .40 chambers giving out with crap reloads.

1911's are my favorite platform too, and I have some nice ones. But I don't think they are anywhere near as reliable as my old Glock 17 that I regret selling.

SIG Sauer P239.
Single stack with factory 10 rounders. No neutered overcap mags. Perfect!
I bought mine from Questar.

Those "overcap" mags, as you call them, are actually standard capacity.

That's how we get stupid laws in this country, people believing that more than X rounds is unneccessary.
