Any suggestions? I'm still undecided on what route to go with optics on my AR.

Also, if anyone has less expensive suggestions for an aimpoint/EOtech that would be cool too.

Thanks

Vortex Optics are quite good. The Viper PST would be a good stand in for the ACOG (different kind of optic though, larger and a 1-4x), and the SPARC is a good alternative to an Aimpoint Micro. These optics are decent, but keep in mind that they are cheaper alternatives, and not the original item they are intended to substitute.

May I suggest a nice optic (Eotech/Aimpoint) tagged with a magnifier?

I have a Aimpoint PRO with a vortex VMX3 (3x magnifier)

Only shot it on my .22 once so far, but after a quick re-zero plinking at 100M on a 6X2 steel plate was a breeze!

This will allow you to have both, magnified and non magnified.
Plus you can mix and match, buy aim point sight, and the VMX3. Or buy a cheaper red dot, and the VMX3.

Here are some prices
Eotech 500-700 for a sight
Aimpoint 400-700 for a sight
Eotech magnifier 700
Aimpoint magnifier 750
VMX3 magnifier 330
All of those include mounts as well. (and are ball parks from my experience of researching around 6 months ago.)
And are the right height for standard co-witness of an AR.

It also works well with my brothers XPS-2.

I have pics if you want, just tell me your email.

Burris AR332.
Reay to set up on a flat top. Fixed three power.
Also can illuminate to red or green. Around $400 overall.

I have the Lucid and have had it for three weeks and I still haven't shot with it yet :(

First impressions: I'm pretty impressed by the build of it. It is solid with rubberized surfaces. The mount is fixed, there are no rings, so there should be no adjustment needed after firing. The attachment to the rails is pretty great too. The tightening rings even have crush washers. All the dials click nicely.

It is noticeably heavier than the Vortex SPARC and the Strike Fire and larger than both.

Other details:

four reticles
it has an auto brightness sensor so depending on the light conditions it will be brighter in daylight and dimmer in dim light
the red dot reticle is so tiny I doubt I'll ever use it but with manual brightness adjustment is reasonable
takes a AAA battery
windage and elevation do not require coins, just turn the dial and adjust 1/2 MOA
permits lower 1/3rd cowitness with my ARMS and the A2 post
more expensive than the SPARC and Strike Fire
two hour auto shutoff
does not come with caps
comes with basically a one page manual with a lot of spelling mistakes but oh well who needs it
cost in Canadian dollars $279 before taxes and shipping

I bought it from SFRC (theammosource.com). Shipping, communication was good.
