Hi Guys...

So... how many minutes of elevation do average 30mm tubed scopes have?

The reason I'm asking.... is I'm trying to decide if I need an inclined base for my rifle... I'm shooting a .223... and the MOA drop at 600m is about 16MOA...

So... I dialed my scope down all the way from my 100m zero... I got 30MOA... then from the bottom... I dialed up all the way and got 100MOA bottom extreme to top extreme... thinking something was up... I dialed it all the way down again and got 105MOA (I might have miss counted by 5 fingers)...

Is this real?

Depends on the scope make I think. I know that Nightforce has 100MOA of adjustment in their 30mm tubed scopes. I think my Bushnell 30mm tube has 45MOA from what I have read (I have not dialed it from top to bottom though).

Are you counting clicks or reading the dial? There is a chance the last few clicks at the extreme top and bottom won't do anything. If you have 60 + MOA adjustment from your 100 zero, you have plenty of elevation to get to 1000 yards. No need for a tapered base.
