Waiting on my Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40 and then it will be off to the range for load testing and a photo op ;)

First impressions
Good:
1) Awesome fit and finish
2) Can't believe how easy it is to field strip
3) Extremely well engineered rifle
4) Control locations are awesome

Not so good:
1) when the safety is off the RHS safety leaver digs into the hand a bit
2) pistol grip is uncomfortable
3) Cheek rest not quite high enough (Hopefully they will release some higher ones)
4) She's a little spicy in the weight department, but not too bad. Definitely not a mountain gun

All of the problems I see with it should be very easy to remedy. Overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with it!!! It was worth the wait! :D:D:D

Preliminarty Report. I'll put up a proper accuracy report once I get glass on it.

Reserved for intense jealousy as a result of said range report with the mk4.

do the m's still have the single Allen key screw for barrel swaps?

A couple questions,

1. Is that barrel heavy behind the gas block?
2. Is the muzzle device pinned on?
3. Is the front pivot pin captured (AR style)?
4. Is that stock all aluminium?

I've only owned one XCR-L and I'm wondering how many areas Robinson took the opportunity to improve with this new design.

Looks like it :) I'm still waiting on the manual so I don't know all of the ins and outs yet.
can you record a video while your at the range
Hell yes I can :D Maybe I'll go take a quicky this afternoon ;)

1) Yep, same Dia all the way back, by the looks of it
2) Looks like it was threaded on and then tack welded in place. I'm just guessing about the threads but it would make sense. My concern with removing the brake is whether or not it's needed to maintain an 18.6" bbl length.
3) Don't know, I've never had an AR. Looks like they have a small spring clip in a slot in the lower that holds the pin with a grove. (pic in a sec)
4) No, the cheek rest is plastic, which is good because I think it will allow them to produce more cheek rests with different heights. I would like one .25" - .375" higher.

I was under the impression the whole stock can be mounted higher if need be on top of that the cheek piece elevates. Can you take a picture with the check piece in the lower position as well as the upper. This time wipe of what ever you have deposited on it.

Muzzle devices only count towards barrel length in America. You are good to go taking it off

Ha, unfortunately that's just oil. If I had splooged on it, I wouldn't be ashamed, I would admit to it :p

Beauty! Good call, I hadn't noticed that.

Very nice looking rifle and pics.

Claven that was a good one. :D. Nice twist on the old joke. It's a classic.

I like some of the changes with the piston/bolt connector. It's looking like a nice upgrade to the L model.

With regards to the cheek rest. While not owning one of these rifles (actually like what I'm seeing) I have checked a lot of the videos etc. I recall the two screws in the stock are for adjusting the height of the cheek rest. It's supposed to be fully adjustable. I hope this works for you. No need to wait, or spend more.

Length of Pull Adjustment:

10" to 13" on L. 10.5" to 13.5 on M. .5" Increments
Height Positions: 3 Bolt on Postions.
Cheek Rest Positions: 2 Quick Postions .25" apart
Weight: 1.0 lbs
Width: 0.85"

The Robinson Armament Co. Fully Adjustable Stock (FAST) comes with with all parts needed to attach to your XCR rifles. It fits both the XCR-L and M models without modification.

Whether one is using it on the L or M, there are two methods for cheek height adjustment. The stock may be bolted on the hinge at three different heights. This height change requires an allen wrench. (In the picture on the left, the stock is bolted on in the middle position which is the most used postion.)

In addition to the three bolt on positions, the cheek rest can attach to the stock at two different heights .25" apart. The lower postion is perfect for lower sights such as Troy Micro or H&K 416 Sights. The higher postion (pictured on the left) is ideal for standard height flip up sights. The change can be made quickly by hand without tools.

How does the break in instruction differ from the 'L'?
Is it still so many rounds at full gas setting before changing?

OK, raised the stock to the upper position. WAY BETTER and, as a bonus, the lines are a lot better now :D

Ran 35 or so rounds of South African mil-surp through it this afternoon. Sooo awesome. :D The target board pictured was at 100yds. Milsurp ammo, open sights, my eyes suck... be kind. You'll see some tight groups once I get some glass on it ;)

Video is uploading!

Forgive me if this is (what most people consider to be) an obvious question, or one that is answered elsewhere - but what magazines are those? I wanted a few spares, but was under the impression that they were somewhat proprietary. Those are nice.

I havent fired mine yet. Hope to get out next weekend.
