Sometimes good things do happen to bad people! (question, restoration & range pics)

I tipped a jug full of boiling water down the tube to open up the pores, then smeared autosol on a nylon brush and gave it a good scrubbing.

I also ran some boiling water down the barrel. I learned years ago online that hot water will remove the corrosive salts left from surplus ammo.

I do it to most of my milsurps. My first SMLE kept rusting on me after cleaning until I learned a little about corrosive ammo and the water trick.

Got a Bayonet from Tradex. It's Broad Arrow marked but it will do for now.

It's caked inside the sheath with grease or cosmo or something. I dunno how I'm gonna get it clean. Solvents won't touch it. Heat?

I dunno what it was but I'm thinking cosmo.

I actually took a heat gun and warmed it up slowly and the stuff ran out like wax. Stunk like ol' hell though.

Fits the rifle nicely. I'll post a glamour shot soon with a C Broad Arrow sling and the bayonet fixed.
