Sometimes it's nice to get exactly what you want...

Now that would be rifle I'd be proud to pass down to next generations. What an absolute beauty, the old friend has had quite the glow-up! I've always loved Mannlicher stocks, I just wish they'd make the bolt ones in left handed!

What's the deal with that metal plate into which the fore-end mounting screw goes? Is there some esoteric system under there for tensioning the barrel or otherwise improving accuracy? Or is that just cosmetic?

I'm not certain about the shortened lever tip, but IMHO everything else on that rifle is just perfect. :)

I believe the metal plate is just an improvement on the mounting system.

The factory lever kept whacking my fingers when I'd pull the trigger (even with the 220s at only 2175) and putting my hand outside it just felt awkward. It was bad on this gun, worse on my #3 in 45/70....
