Sonic vs Tumbler

I use the rotary tumbler with just water and Hornady Ultrasonic Cleaning solution for pistol brass and rifle brass that goes in generous factory chambers. The SS pins aren't needed unless you want to clean the primer pockets, the outside of the cases get just as shimmy and polished without them. De-priming all of the cases and separating the media is a big waste of time since dirty primer pockets don't hurt anything in these applications.

Precision rifle cases go in the US unit, they don't go anywhere near the rotary tumbler anymore.

I use stainless with great results but I've seen some good results with the Lyman ultrasonic aswell recently but the hornady ultrasonics don't seem to work as good from what I've seen. I will still use SS for brass because of how good it does but I will be buying a Lyman ultrasonic for cleaning gun parts it really works good for handguns

Stainless is the way to go brass comes out shiny clean and there is no dust or residue on the cases. I've good a stainless tumbler, Hornady ultra sonic and a walnut vibrator since I got the stainless tumbler thats all I use to clean brass.

No box stores that I know of I bought mine through stainless tumbling media but they are a little pricey but the thumblers tumbler is a really great unit only drawback is its capacity is a little small for my use but probably good for most people.
