Just need to get the doe closer to the backdoor.

No....a friends backyard. The deer lives on his land. He has a big piece between two highways so he benefits from the additional land off the highway right of ways. Every year since his big dog died he gets more and more wildlife around his property. He can't let his cats out anymore as either a Fisher or a Pine Marten takes them. We keep finding thier skulls and bones. We even saw a Turkey Vulture with a chunk of what looked like his last cat Fluffy in its beak fly away over the highway.
The only thing that makes him nervous are the bears coming out of the bush and tearing up his apple trees. He started cleaning up the dropped apples but the bears are climbing up and breaking the limbs off to get the remaining apples. His big dog used to keep the wildlife at bay. It was an Irish Wold Hound mixed with a Bouvier de Flandres. We called him Little Ruffy and at his peak he weighed 170 pounds. He was big and full of slobber but he was really friendly.

Threemorewishes, Your a hardened man if you can put that doe in your freezer after feeding it apples by hand...

Oh ya, can I have a steak when you do?

Cheers
Jay

Busty Betty our Easter BBQ goat would come over to anyone who called her name. We would feed her all kinds of things that she liked even though she was still going to be dinner. There is nothing wrong with treating animals with kindness no matter what their final use in life.

I am an omnivore, I make no excuse for killing my food. Treating them well is something everyone should do. Have you ever seen a commercial feed lot for pigs, chickens, cows, whatever? To me that is cruelty.

I love animals...their delicious!
