Soooo, how are we going to adapt AR-15 AR-10 Barrels to a bolt gun???

Necessity is the mother of invention, and we need to invent something else because of these mothers.

As the saying goes, I'm sure there is more than one way to skin a cat!!!!!!

Myself, I'm looking at converting the barrels to a bolt gun, but hey, they're sure are some great ideas brewing.

When the barrel extension is unscrewed from the barrel, the barrel shank threads are rather small in diameter, compared with most bolt action receiver threads. It would be necessary to make an adapter sleeve/collar/adapter to screw onto the barrel, which would fit the new receiver. Many AR barrels are chrome lined. This could affect any chamber reaming required to set headspace.

I am in the US and admit to having zero understanding of the requirements for designation of "bolt action" in Canada. The Aussies and Kiwis seemed to have figured it out for themselves. The rifle below was advertised in 2008 on the NZ site "TradeMe", which was a popular way of buying/selling guns back then. It used to be a Sudanese AR10.

So maybe the above abomination was done out of necessity, such as a broken charging handle. And it is nice to have a scope when shooting at those ting deer they have down under.

Below is a before and after type pic that shows the extent of the carnage.

The AR-10 in the picture has the original upper and lower. Which is missing the point.

Ok, so I admit be being uninformed about the new rules up north. If this sort of thing were to come about in the US, folks would get an unfinished AR15/AR10 lower and a corresponding stripped upper and modify them slightly to work in a non semi-auto fashion. (see prior post with bastardized AR10) The gun would not really be a AR15/AR10 and would certainly have no markings to that effect.

Down here the goal is to be several steps ahead of folks like Diane Feinstein.

Our "AR" Upper and Lower receivers are Banned - Prohibited now.

We would need to use the remaining parts or like myself (just the barrel) to incorporate this into an existing or new design bolt action receiver.

Thats why I was thinking of the Savage 10 - 110 or Ruger Precision Rifle system.

Would that not work?

Thats exactly what I'm looking for.

I assume these could be made very easy.

Beyond my home shop skills, but if someone could come up with an adapter, to me this would save a lot of dust collecting barrels.

Again, some great idea's coming forward.

Thank you.
