After watching the video above, it re-enforces my desire for the original configuration. Soviet military style guns dress best in wood, in my eye. They may not be modern tacticool, but IMO, original configurations are more intimidating and interesting to look at... wood all the way.
I'm on the pre-order list, and more than likely will be eating Craft Dinner for a foreseeable future so I can pay for the gun and more ammo... LOL
Today at work I was thinking about the potential for belts packing more than 5 rounds and how much fun it will be. It put a smile on my face... then the dark little cloud entered my daydream. I realized that a belt fed beast with more than 5 rounds would violate my gun clubs rule of 5 round limit mags / rapid fire (even with .22). The fudds will shut me down in a heartbeat when they hear the first cluster of rat-a-tat-tat. hmmmmm...
I frequent crown land as often as I can, so the RPD will be packed with the camp gear, but the local club is way more convenient and closer for mid week lead distribution. I abide by club rules but I can see myself getting frustrated with the desire to unload a few hundred rounds with the coolness of belt fed.
I'm not bashing club(s) rules. I know the reasons why these rules are in place, and I agreed to follow these rules by paying my membership dues. These rules don't deter my decision to buy an RPD. It's just a thought I had, that turned into a pesky little dilemma.
I know some will say 'find another club', but that's easier said than done.
In the end, I know I'll love the RPD and will no doubt shoot it as often as I can, when I have time for crown land camping. One good thing ( i think ) with current club restrictions, I won't go broke buying ammo to feed a beast.
I'm not bashing club(s) policy, or starting a heated tangent to the thread, so please don't take this the wrong way. just a thought I had, thats all.
Man this thing is badass!!! another pic, just because.
